Never sit up late?

Recently i found myself sleepless. Maybe it's because i have just come back from Malaysia which i have been sleeping late during the past few days. I was not totally awake. In fact, I felt a little bit sleepy, but couldn't really fall asleep. It is strange, and i start thinking about something that related to the theory of the traditional chinese medicine. We are always told that it isn't good for our health if we sit up late. It is good for you to sleep for example before 11 or 10 p.m. If you sit up late until 2-3 a.m., then your internal organs will not be able to rest and therefore they will functionally deteriorate.

And now comes the problem. If you are traveling to countries that are far far away, e.g. America, you realize that there is something called jet lag. This is simply because when your body think it is morning, in reality, it is night. And so, in order to get acclimated, you will then sleep when your body want to run, wake up when your body want to be on bed. Therefore, when we are talking about sleep before 11 p.m., and now you are doing something that hurt your body so much by not giving them a rest. As such, days after days, your body is numb to the environment, and you look perfectly fine with your new environment. But, in fact, you are constantly torturing your body just because not rest at the time that your body should do.

It may sound a little bit confusing. Anyway, when people in the past developed this theory, they didn't(or they might?) have the problem of jet lag, and therefore this theory always apply. But what about now? If you go to America, and never come back, then you are actually sleep at the time at 11 p.m. when it is 11 a.m. here every day and therefore you gonna age earlier? Hmm... i wonder.
